We decided to eat at Awful Arthur's, and since the weather was so cooperative, we dined outside! Soon after being seated, we couldn't help but notice people frantically sprinting around downtown, all of them wearing yellow shirts. Mr. Price guessed right away that they were participating in a scavenger hunt. Sure enough that's what they were doing!
Today was Roanoke's Diamond Dash sponsored by Fink's Jewelers. Participants were dashing around downtown Roanoke to find a $15,000, 1.5 carat Ritani diamond ring!
It appeared that most of the participants were couples. Some were running, some were walking, some were biking and some were pushing strollers. But all of them were using their cell phones to receive the treasure hunt clue riddles. It was quite entertaining, and I found myself wanting to cheer on the participants!
After Mr. Price finished his Caribbean tuna sandwich, and I finished my citrus glazed salmon, we had to part ways. Mr. Price headed back to work, and I took a leisurely stroll around downtown to snap a few more photos of the market and the hunt! I hope all of you are enjoying your weekend!
