Scenes from the Weekend

This weekend we drove to Asheville and saw Third Day in concert. They put on a good show, played a few songs from their new record Move (which I love), and even played a little tribute to Drivin' n' Cryin' at the very end of the show.

We made it home Saturday a few hours before the first snowflakes of the Winter season started falling. This year's first snow was nothing like the first snow of last year, when it decided to dump 16 inches just after we started traveling. That's another story for another time.

We received about an inch of snow on Saturday evening from what meteorologists call a "clipper system." By Sunday afternoon most of the snow had melted.

Since it was feeling a lot like Christmas, we decided to go pick out our Christmas tree on Saturday. We purchased our tree from Sweet Providence Farms of Floyd, Virginia. They bring their trees to Roanoke and set up shop near a local mall. A few guys helped us prepare our tree to take home, and carried it to our car where Mr. Price strapped it to the top tightly.

And what's a cold, snowy day inside without some good comfort food. It was the perfect time for a warm bowl of chili. We made ours with buffalo meat instead of ground beef! Pretty tasty!
